Directed by Larry Hembree (who directed a production of this show at the FAC 24 years ago), the plot revolves around Norman Thayer, Jr., a prickly English professor at the disagreeable age of 79. Visiting his summer house by a Maine lake with his wife, Ethel, the old man forges an unlikely bond with a young boy, comes to terms with his daughter and suffers disorienting effects of mild dementia. In the end, the play is a celebration of simple human decency.
