Illustration for Adults & Teens
Explore the basics of black & white illustration. This class with artist Jay Potts, Savannah College of Art and Design alumnus, will focus on the human form. While Jay’s drawing skills with pencil and ink are amazing, his low-pressure style of instruction is supportive and insightful. All you need to bring to the first class is your desire to keep drawing.

Chinese Brush Painting with Midge Bremer - Sessions 1 & 2
Under the watchful eye of instructor Midge Bremer, beginning students study the fundamentals of traditional Chinese painting starting with the Four Gentlemen: Bamboo, Orchid, Plum and Chrysanthemum. These initial stepping-stones to Chinese painting form the basis of flower and bird paintings. Session 2 features the addition of color and the refinement of technique.

Calligraphy: Holiday Cards, Scrapbook, etc.
Personalize your scrapbooks, wedding announcements, notes, birthday and other seasonal cards. Margo Cook will teach you the art of Calligraphy. Paper provided, but students must bring their own calligraphy pens or felt markers (chisel tip).

Brilliant Batik Made Easy
Back by request! Bill Hicks’ Batik painting is similar to traditional Batik but easier and yields gorgeous results. You will outline your design with wax on paper and then “paint” on brilliant color using dyes much as you paint with watercolors. The results are stunning and have a stained glass appearance. Have a simple scene or design idea in your head when you arrive for class and watch that idea become a wonderful piece of art.

Study In Architectural Relief
You will capture the look and feel of real architectural detail in your work. Using such unlikely materials as Styrofoam, spackle and acrylic paint, you will create an exciting three-dimensional work of art. Your instructor Bill Hicks, national board certified art teacher, will show you the way in this fun-filled, fast-paced class. Bring your curiosity, creativity and be ready explore new “dimensions.”

High Noon Art - weekly classes, pay as you go
For the artist, it is a joy to Draw with confidence and Sketch with passion. But the Joy of Drawing is available for everyone. All persons interested in drawing skills and design concepts are welcome to Marta M.T. Herman’s class. Whether you want to make Art or draw plans for your new kitchen - drawing is a useful skill that everyone can learn. You will need a large (18” x 24”) sketchpad, a yardstick and soft drawing pencils (2B, 3B or 4B). Some materials will be provided . . . (No, we will not just draw kitchen plans!)

Clay Technique With Tim - Sessions 1 & 2
During this seven evening course with potter Tim Graham, students learn hand-building, wheel-throwing, firing and glazing technique. The seventh class will be a trip to Tim’s studio and kiln. The limited class size permits students to receive individualized instruction no matter what their skill level.

Intermediate Clay With Anne - Sessions 1 & 2
In this class, potter Anne Schultz will have students further refine and develop their wheel-throwing skills. Students will experience throwing, trimming, glazing and firing in a small class with encouraging, hands-on instruction. Prerequisite: Beginning Wheel-Throwing.
