Kidstage
This intensive theatre “boot camp” takes students through the production process from audition to “striking” the set. Kidstage introduces young actors to the magical world of theatre, guiding them through all phases of the creative process and culminates in a fully mounted production. Lead teacher and professional actor/writer/director Jerry Stevenson takes students through an actor's workout focusing on pantomime, improvisation, vocal & physical characterization, stage movement, scene study, musical theatre, rehearsal and performance technique. Students explore the tools of theatrical storytelling: creative dramatics, skill-based teamwork and imaginative play. Kidstage stretches students artistically while strengthening verbal and analytical skills. Suitable for the beginner to the seasoned actor. A partnership with the Columbia Children's Theatre.
