The Community Concert Choir, now in its second year, has spread
joy around town by singing at several local organizations including the Pinedale Residence, Morningside of Camden and the Karesh Longterm Care Center. They will present their final Spring Concert on Sunday afternoon, June 3 at 4:00 pm at the Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 502 DeKalb Street in Camden.
The program will include a set of patriotic numbers, a set of time-honored sacred numbers, a Hoagy Carmichael set, and a set of favorite show tunes from such block buster shows as Oklahoma, The Wizard of Oz and The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd. The Choir will wrap up the concert with some crowd pleasing numbers from George Gershwin and Duke Ellington.
The Community Choir is comprised of folks who love to sing. It is directed by Mr. Bo Dickinson, director of music at Bethesda Church and graduate of the prestigious Westminster Choir College. The choir is sponsored by the Kershaw County Music Association, which is an affiliate of the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.
